Our Beliefs
Rooted in Scripture, Reformed in Theology
The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Scriptures are sufficient for knowing God and living a life that honors Him.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." - 2 Timothy 3:16
The Triune God
We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, yet there is one God. The Trinity is central to our understanding of who God is and how He works in the world.
The Gospel of Grace
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We are saved not by our own works or merit, but by the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. He lived the perfect life we could not live and died the death we deserved to die.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9
The Sovereignty of God
We believe God is sovereign over all things. He works all things according to the counsel of His will for His glory and the good of His people. This includes salvation, where God graciously chooses to save sinners and grants them faith and repentance.
The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers. The local church is a gathering of believers for worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. We are called to make disciples, administer the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper, and proclaim the gospel to all nations.
The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to judge the living and the dead. Those who have trusted in Christ will inherit eternal life in the new heavens and new earth. Those who have rejected Christ will face eternal judgment.
Our Confessional Standards
As a Reformed church, we hold to the historic Reformed confessions, including the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Westminster Shorter and Larger Catechisms. These documents faithfully summarize the teaching of Scripture and guide our understanding of Christian doctrine.
We are also part of the broader Reformed tradition represented by All Souls Reformed Church, sharing their theological convictions and commitment to biblical faithfulness.
